Fall Semester

Cobras in the Capital

All first-year day students will travel together to Washington, D.C. for a study away trip. During this unique academic experience, students will visit historic sites throughout the nation’s capital with guidance from Coker faculty and staff. This valuable travel opportunity is made available through your Coker Advantage package, and is required for all first-year students.

No camping experience needed, equipment available to loan out, positive attitude a must.

Spring Break 2020

New York City

One-week research and study in New York museums, design studios and galleries will provide an intensive look into art historical styles, current trends in design and contemporary art. The art faculty believes that viewing and discussing works of art and design first hand is an essential part of an art education. Students will keep a reflective journal of their experiences that will include daily entries. Each participant will turn in a 10-page paper examining in detail, selected works they have seen.

Courses: ART 387 – Art in New York. Open to all students.
